The Labour & Employment Relations Office, commonly referred to as the Labour Division, deals with matters pertaining to employment and dangerous goods in the Cook Islands.  Our role is to ensure that:

  • employers and employees understand their obligations & rights regarding work place entitlements and work safety standards in the Cook Islands
  • hazardous and dangerous goods are stored and managed correctly and do not harm the people of the Cook Islands.

Workers Compensation provides protection to workers and their employers in the event of an employee suffers a work related injury or disease. Compensation is available to all workers in the Cook Islands.
